LINK PROXIMITY ANALYSIS
One of the most common ways in which paid links are displayed is in a list either in the sidebar or the footer. While links sometimes naturally occur in this way, we can use Wikipedia’s link profile to determine the ideal balance of these types of links and then compare it with your site to see if you fall within that expected standard deviation. Sites that fall outside of that may be attempting to manipulate the link graph with paid links.
SOURCE LINK DEPTH ANALYSIS
In this tool, we analyze the average depth of inbound links (whether they originate on the home page or sub directories of the inbound linking site) to your site. We then compare this profile to Wikipedia’s to determine if any link graph manipulation is occurring.
MULTIPLE LINKS ANALYSIS
Authority sites tend to gather several links from the same source, but not in a very discernible pattern. This tool compares your link profile from Wikipedia’s in terms of number of links per page pointing to your domain. For example, if a web page links to 3 pages on your website, it would score a 3. If it links to 10, it would score a 10. We tally these occurrences up and compare them against Wikipedia’s example to see if there are any noticeable outliers.
